Privacy policy
Your photos stay yours.
Last updated 8 October 2026
No accounts, no ads, no tracking, and we never sell data. Here’s what Timeshift sends, what we keep, and why.
Your photos
- When you shift a photo, the app sends it to our server with the time you picked. Location and other metadata are removed on your phone first.
- Our server and the providers we work with use it only to make your picture. We don’t store your photo; the new picture is held for up to an hour, in case it needs to be sent again, then deleted.
- Your pictures stay on your phone and go only where you save or share them.
Your device
- The app makes a random ID to count your free shifts. It isn’t your name, email or advertising ID.
- Apple’s App Attest confirms that requests come from the real app.
- Our server keeps short technical logs, never with photos.
Purchases
- Apple handles payment. We never see your card or your Apple Account’s email.
- We keep Apple’s record of each purchase and your balance, so every purchase counts once, refunds work, and Restore Purchases brings your shifts to your other devices. Bought shifts never expire, so we keep this for as long as Timeshift runs.
